All Negro Comics

Comic books have been a form of entertainment and education enjoyed all over the world. Seldom have any comics ever been produced by blacks and intended mainly for black audiences. Negro Romance came out in 1950, then Negro Heroes ran from 1947-1948, and Little Willie (1949). DC published the “Milestone” line in the 1990s. But the first and only issue of All-Negro Comics was published in 1947 by “dean of black reporters” Orrie C. Evans. Due to the racism of the day, Evans could not find a printer for his second issue, already written, illustrated and ready for publication.

This short lived comic book was written and drawn entirely by African-Americans it was America's first ever funny book to be published, It was intended for us by us. All Negro Comic book pages are lit up with Characters like Ace Harlem the plains clothes Police Detective,Our Jungle hero "Lion man" with his side kick "Bubba" Zoot suit wearing criminals "sugar Foot" and "Snake Oil"And the fanstastical Dew Dillies "Bubbles" and "Bibber" Unfortunately it wasn't long lived and possibly passed on and reached into the era's of today,I'm thinking cartoon and action figures,something that little black children could have looked up to as possibly positive heroes in those days
auction this past March. While it originally sold for 15 cents, that amounts to o.ver two dollars in today's cheapened paper money. Yet cash was more difficult to come by in those days, as most black folks worked menial jobs. The auction price rose to at least $6500.

Start Today, A Good Health Path

Some of us want to live forever,or at least we want feel like we are, People in our community often sometimes put their health on the back burners of their lives, we're busy raising children, working a dead end ass job, holding up a house dealing with a spouse just everyday, And we want things so quick drive through,microwaves,take out...I'm sure you heard the saying "live by the sword,die by the sword" unhealthy eating habits is a sharp sword and it can kill you, cripple you, or having you dealing with some debilitating ailment for the rest of your days making you miserable trying to adjust, and polluting your body with medication which only calms the symptoms medication don't cure, its gets the ailment under control, we need to increase our fresh fruit and vegetables, water intake and 100% juices, We need to avoid high fructose corn syrup,white cow's milk, sugar and cigarettes Dr.Afrika's book Afrikan holistic health is a (how should I put this) A bible to optimum health along with so many other books and good people on the behalf of good health,Dr. Jewel Pookrum, Queen Afua, Dr.Suzar Epps Just to name a few...And beside those things you have the social pollution that we endure daily undesirable neighborhoods with violence and drug dealings and prostitution, racism which is a societal dealing that reaches coast to coast(I came off the top of my head with that one)That there can be a whole other posting...Take heed Take care...Live Long and strong!

Random Thoughts

I'm inspired more so than ever these days doing what it is I love to do communicating with people and expressing ideas, I got a special friend whom Ive come to love we do some great collaborating You probably know who he is And I ain't saying no names, This guy is an absolute genius in the short time we've dealt Ive learned so much from him You can pretty much ask him anything he'll have an answer We've come up with some ideas that's hopefully going to support us fully I think everybody has a talent you got to recognize it and believe in it, I believe in mines!, and you probably read some of my work Http://urbandweller.blogspot.com Http://whisperart.blogspot.com It's a little more formality there, everything I wrote I thought out which took much longer versus me just typing it out trying to crowd please. The summer is near approaching I can appreciate that, lots of outdoor activities happening, festivals, barbecue's and getting wet cause its so Damn hot!, skin showing, feet out, men looking, taking the children for ice cream, Boom boxes blaring(Do people still have them?)...Today its mp3 players so folk will be walking around with ears plugged up and I hope they ain't driving, And so much is happening in my neighborhood the good and the bad and what shall we do about it?...I think the neighborhoods should be organized because beside our house the neighborhood is home too!...Take care of your property (even if you don't own it) pick the trash up,plant flowers, converse with your neighbors, look out when neighbors ain't home, lighten up dark areas... to some who may read this these suggestions seems unrealistic your living situation may not be one where you will participate in doing these things...And some don't care! I ain't doing that shit...we'll get better(hopefully)...Always express yourself...Hotep!
